Find the four hidden groups.
Featured in: Free Wordle Alternatives That Run in Your Browser
Sixteen words on the board. Four hidden groups of four, each sharing a theme — literal, lateral, thematic, or tricky wordplay. Pick four, submit, and lock in a group. Four wrong guesses and you’re out. Fresh puzzle every day, same for everyone, tracked on a global leaderboard. Faster solves with fewer strikes earn a bigger score.
The board starts with sixteen words. Somewhere inside are four hidden groups of four words each. Your job is to find all four groups before you run out of strikes.
Tap (or click) four words you think share a connection, then hit Submit. If you’re right, the group locks in and reveals the theme. If you’re wrong, you lose a strike and the tiles shake.
Four strikes and the game ends. Solve all four groups to win and bank the score.
Groups come in four tiers: Literal (straightforward), Lateral (one step sideways), Thematic (category-based), and Tricky (wordplay, compounds, puns). The trickier the tier, the more tempting the decoy overlaps.
Same puzzle for everyone each day. Global leaderboard resets daily.
Cluster Hunt is a free daily word puzzle that runs in your browser. You're given sixteen words and must sort them into four hidden groups of four. It's in the same genre as the NYT Connections puzzle but completely free with no login required.
Yes, Cluster Hunt is completely free to play. No login, no paywall, no download. Just open the page and play.
A new puzzle is available every day, shared by all players globally. Results are tracked on a daily leaderboard.
Solving all four groups banks a score based on three factors: how many groups you solved (each locked group is worth 500 points), how many strikes you had remaining (250 per unused strike), and how fast you finished. Faster and cleaner solves score higher.
You lose one of your four strikes. Four wrong guesses and the game ends with the remaining groups revealed. If your guess had three words from a single group, you'll see a "so close" hint.
