How to Play Letter Run

Each day, a new 5x5 grid of letter tiles is generated. Tap tiles in any order to spell a word (3-7 letters), then submit.

Valid words consume those tiles permanently and score points based on letter values and word length. Invalid words waste your turn.

After each of your 5 turns, 2-3 random tiles vanish from the grid. The vanishing pattern is the same for all players.

Letter values follow Scrabble scoring (common letters = 1pt, rare letters like Q/Z = 10pt). Longer words get bonus multipliers: 5+ letters = 1.5x, 7+ letters = 2x.

You have 5 turns and 90 seconds on the clock. Use ALL remaining tiles for a +100pt Perfect Run bonus! Share your emoji grid when you’re done.

Letter Run Strategy Guide

1. Scan for high-value letters (J, Q, X, Z) first and use them before they vanish.
2. Longer words are dramatically more valuable due to the multiplier. A 5-letter word scores 1.5x, a 7-letter word scores 2x.
3. Vowels are critical. If the grid is vowel-heavy early on, save them for longer words later rather than burning them on short words.
4. Tiles vanish in the same pattern for everyone. Over time, experienced players can predict which tiles will disappear and plan around it.
5. Don’t waste turns on short common words when longer options exist. 5 turns go fast.
