How to Play Ore Wars

You start with a basic mining vessel near a space station. Fly to nearby asteroids and hold Space to extract ore.

When your cargo hold is full, return to the space station to sell ore for credits. Use credits to buy upgrades from the station menu.

Mining upgrades increase extraction speed and cargo capacity. Combat upgrades add weapons and shields — you’ll need them.

Starting from Run 2, enemy ships appear in the asteroid field. They’ll attack on sight. Use F to fire your laser (requires the Laser upgrade).

As you buy more combat upgrades, your ship class evolves: Miner → Gunship → Cruiser. Each class changes your ship’s appearance and stats.

Your score is based on total credits earned across all runs. If your ship is destroyed, you respawn at the station but lose your current cargo.

Ore Wars Strategy Guide

1. Rush the Cargo Hold upgrade first. More capacity means fewer trips back to the station and more credits per run.
2. Buy the Laser upgrade before Run 2. Enemies will appear and you need to be able to fight back.
3. Mine asteroids that are close to the station first. Shorter trips mean faster credit accumulation early on.
4. When enemies appear, don’t try to fight them head-on without shields. Mine when it’s safe and retreat to the station when threatened.
5. Balance mining and combat upgrades. Pure mining builds earn fast but can’t survive later enemy waves. Pure combat builds survive but earn slowly.
6. The Cruiser class is a tank — aim for it by prioritizing combat upgrades once you have a comfortable mining setup.
